Black and white film grain
Mono grain has no colour in it at all, so it never adds a cast to your image. That makes it the safe choice for black and white photos, and also for colour photos when you only want texture.
Start with a fine plate for portraits and a coarse or pushed plate for street, night and high-contrast shots.
