Comic dots and dot halftone
Comic book dots come from old printing: colour was made of small dots, bigger where the colour was darker. Today the dots are a style of their own, used for pop art, posters and retro graphics.
Flat screens give an even pattern. Gradient and fade plates let the dots grow or vanish across the image, which is the classic comic panel look.
